Algebra 1 Success
22+ hours of interactive and engaging online summer prep that turn the year's hardest concepts into familiar ground — before the pressure of grades begins.
Algebra 1 introduces a whole new way of thinking about math. Getting a head start visualizing linear relationships, interpreting and solving equations and inequalities, and working with variables and expressions helps students walk into the school year ready to engage and deepen their mathematical thinking, rather than keeping up.

OUR APPROACH
Math mastery built on real understanding
Math mastery built on real understanding
Math mastery built on
real understanding
Algebra 1 introduces a whole new way of thinking about, balancing and expressing mathematical relationships. It also moves fast, and assumes that students arrive with a solid grasp of all previous math concepts. Our online summer program begins by rebuilding strong middle school math foundations, and then breaks down core Algebra 1 concepts, so that they feel familiar and easy to understand before a single grade is at stake.

Using Universal Design for Learning methods, we help each student visualize and deeply understand what key Algebra 1 ideas really mean — such as what algebraic equations and inequalities are actually saying and how to solve them, how the relationship between inputs and outputs in a function can model real-world situations, how different forms of a linear equation each tell a different part of the story, and how systems of equations describe the point where two relationships meet, for example. When students have the opportunity to unpack key Algebra 1 concepts in a safe and stress-free learning environment, understanding sticks, procedures stay fresh, and the school year feels more manageable.

Everything your student
needs to succeed

Live instruction
22+ hours of synchronous online teaching with a highly qualified instructor, in small classes.

Small cohort
Classes are kept small by design, so every student gets real attention and the class remains fully interactive - rather than just a lecture.

Instructor videos
Short recordings of key teaching materials are available after each session — so students can revisit any concept on their own schedule.

Live instruction
22+ hours of synchronous online teaching with a highly qualified instructor, in a cohort of no more than 10 students.

Classes are kept small by design, so every student gets real attention and the class remains fully interactive - rather than just a lecture.

Student screencasts
Each student records key concepts in their own words during the course. These become a personal reference library — uniquely theirs — to revisit when things get hard during the school year.

Back-to-school refresher
2 hours of live review included the weekend before school starts — a calm, confidence-building bridge from summer to the classroom.

Printable course workbook
Printable materials supplement digital resources — and provide a helpful reference throughout the school year.

ALGEBRA 1 PREP
Curriculum
22+ hours of online, individualized instruction
in a small class setting designed for all learners
The course is structured in three parts: a Foundations phase that reviews key middle school math concepts, a Deeper Relationships phase that covers the topics where Algebra 1 students most often struggle when the pace picks up during the regular school year, and a Back-to-School Refresher session right before school starts to strengthen learning and recall.
Foundations
The program begins by breaking down and reteaching key middle school math concepts — such as fractions, decimals, percents, ratios, and integer operations — using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies that are highly effective for all kinds of learners. This helps to ensure that any earlier math gaps are closed, and any lingering misconceptions are clarified, so that students can build their knowledge of new Algebra 1 topics on a strong and meaningful math foundation.
Deeper Relationships
From there, students move on to the heart of Algebra 1 — including visualizing what algebraic equations and inequalities really mean, and deeply understanding the steps to solve them. Vocabulary, symbols and procedures are carefully unpacked so that, for example, the dynamic relationship of “inputs” and “outputs” in algebraic functions not only makes sense to students, but can also be used by them to model real-world situations in equations, tables and graphs.
Students will also become familiar with interpreting and writing linear equations in different forms (standard, slope-intercept, and point-slope), as well as with solving systems of equations by graphing, substitution and elimination. Students will also explore operations with polynomials, an introduction to quadratic expressions, and the foundational rules of exponents and radicals to prepare them for future math courses.
Throughout, the emphasis is on genuine understanding for deeper recall. Students learn what the core concepts of Algebra 1 really mean, so that rules and procedures actually make sense, and are easier to perform.
Back-to-School Refresher
The course closes with the opportunity to attend one or more back-to-school refresher sessions timed for just before school starts, designed to sharpen recall and build confidence right as the year begins. In total, the course offers 22+ hours of focused instruction across live, interactive and highly engaging sessions.
