OUR APPROACH
Math mastery built on
real understanding
Math mastery built on real understanding
Math mastery built on real understanding
Algebra 2 is notorious for arriving fast and assuming too much. This course builds the conceptual foundation that makes the school year feel manageable — before a single grade is at stake.
Algebra 2 moves fast and assumes students remember everything. This course closes that gap before it opens.
— The design principle behind every hour of this course
Using Universal Design for Learning methods, we help students visualize abstract ideas — what a quadratic function actually looks like, why logarithms exist, how complex numbers extend the number line. Understanding that sticks, not procedures that fade.

WHAT'S INCLUDED
A complete learning experience, not just a course.
Every component is designed to work together — building understanding during the summer and supporting students once the school year begins.

Live instruction
22+ hours of synchronous online teaching with a highly qualified instructor, in a cohort of no more than 10 students.

Small cohort
Capped at 10 students by design, so every student gets real attention and the class retains the feel of a tutorial, not a lecture.

Instructor videos
Short recordings of key teaching materials after each section — so students can revisit any concept on their own schedule.

Student screencasts
Each student records key concepts in their own words during the course. These become a personal reference library — uniquely theirs — to revisit when things get hard during the school year.

Back-to-school session
Includes 2 hours of live review right before school starts. Every key idea, calmly revisited. Students arrive at the first day of class with confidence rather than anxiety.

Course workbook
A thoughtfully designed workbook to use alongside instruction and keep as a reference all year — a real resource worth returning to.

CURRICULUM
Summer Algebra 2 Prep
22 hours, strategically designed
The course is structured in three parts: a Foundations phase that refreshes and deepens the Algebra 1 knowledge Algebra 2 assumes, a Deeper Relationships phase that tackles the topics where students most commonly struggle, and a Back-to-School refresher session right before school starts to strengthen learning and recall.
PART 1: FOUNDATIONS
(6 HOURS)
Unit 1 — Algebra 1 Revisited (2 hrs)
Function notation ● Linear functions and slope ● Systems of equations ● Inequalities and interval notation
Unit 2 — Polynomials: The Big Picture (2 hrs)
Terms, degree, leading coefficient ● Adding and subtracting ● Multiplying and dividing ● Laws of exponents throughout
Unit 3 — Roots, Radicals, and Rational Exponents (2 hrs)
What a root is ● Simplifying and operating on radicals ● The key leap: radicals as fractional exponents ● Extraneous solutions
PART 2: DEEPER RELATIONSHIPS
(14 HOURS)
Unit 4 — Quadratic Functions and Parabolas (2 hrs)
What makes a function quadratic ● Vertex, axis of symmetry, direction ● How a, h, k transform the parabola ● Visualization before algebra
Unit 5 — Three Forms of a Quadratic (2 hrs)
Standard form ● Vertex form ● Factored form ● Moving fluently between all three
Unit 6 — Solving Quadratics: Four Methods (2 hrs)
GCF ● X method and box method ● Completing the square ● Quadratic formula — derived, not just memorized
Unit 7— Imaginary and Complex Numbers (2 hrs)
Why imaginary numbers exist ● Defining i ● Complex numbers as a + bi ● Operations ● The complex plane
Unit 8 — Exponential Functions (2 hrs)
Exponential vs. polynomial growth ● Graphing, asymptotes, decay ● The number e ● First look at logarithms as inverses
Unit 9 — Logarithmic Functions (2 hrs)
Logs as inverses of exponentials ● Reading and writing log expressions ● Three log rules ● Solving equations ● Graphing
Unit 10 — Rational Functions: An Orientation (2 hrs)
Logs as inverses of exponentials ● Reading and writing log expressions ● Three log rules ● Solving equations ● Graphing
PART 3: BACK-TO-SCHOOL REFRESHER (2 HRS)
Review of All Key Topics (2 hrs)
Designed to strengthen foundations and increase confidence right before the school year begins.
